Motown Historical Museum

The Motown Historical Museum is actually the former offices for the legendary Motown record label that changed the face of music around the globe forever in the 1960s. Also known as Hitsville USA, this is where all the Motown hits were recorded from the 1960s to the late 1970s when Motown moved their operations to Los Angeles. Established in 1985 as the Motown Historical Museum, there was so much interest in preserving this legendary studio, that they transformed it into a museum to pay homage to that classic of Detroit music. Opened to the public, people can go into Hitsville USA for guided tours with memorabilia from the golden age of Motown. For music enthusiasts and people looking for some Detroit nostalgia, Hitsville is a must go place while in Detroit.
